Student Life & Associations

Centrale Lille Associations (CLA) is the body that oversees student life on the Cité Scientifique campus.

Students from ITEEM, ENSCL, and École Centrale de Lille (excluding IG2I) may choose to pay a membership fee in order to access numerous benefits.

Why become a member?

  • Obtain a sports license and take part in training sessions, competitions, and tournaments;
  • Access parties at reduced rates;
  • Benefit from certain facilities (barbecue areas, library) and sports equipment;
  • Join clubs and committees managed by CLA;
  • Support student life through the reinvestment of membership fees into student projects.

So many great reasons to get involved and make the most of student life!

🏛️ The CLA Board of Directors (“Student Board”)

CLA is managed by a Board of Directors made up of 26 members from the three schools and their student  associations.

The Board meets every week to:

  • make key decisions;
  • allocate the €100,000 in grants dedicated each year to student association projects.

Centrale Lille Student life  is a core part of the student experience, offering countless opportunities to get involved, develop skills, and enrich your journey. With over 70 clubs and associations, every student can find an activity that matches their interests.

🏛️ Student Offices (BDE, BDA, BDS)

  • BDE (Student Office): Organizes major events such as the integration weekend and more.
  • BDA (Arts Office): Manages cultural and artistic activities (exhibitions, stage performances, off-campus outings).
  • BDS (Sports Office): Offers sports activities within the Institute. To participate in training sessions, championships, and tournaments, it is important to join Centrale Lille Associations to obtain your sports  membership.

Student life at IG2I is rich and diverse, supported by several student offices dedicated to different aspects of campus life.

🏫 Main Student Offices:

  • BDE (Student Office): Organizes the integration weekend, major events throughout the year, and manages the cafeteria.
  • BDS (Sports Office): Offers weekly sports activities and organizes tournaments.
  • BDA (Arts Office): Develops cultural activities , including cinema, games, and other artistic activities.
  • BDD (Sustainable Development Office)**: Raises awareness of environmental, social, and economic issues.
  • RI & JDN: Organizes recruitment events, conferences, and the graduation ceremony of the school
  • Impulse: Supports students in developing various skills, such as photography or 3D modeling.

Association spaces are available to students within the Léonard de Vinci residence and the Institute’s buildings.

Centrale Lille Associations (CLA) 

Sport  life at the Institute is organized by the **Sports Office (BDS)**, which coordinates training sessions, championships, and tournaments.

To participate, students must  join **Centrale Lille Associations (CLA)** to obtain a sport membership.

⚽ Sports and Organization

A wide range of sports is offered, each supervised by one or more volunteer coordinators who run activities every week.

The BDS website provides all necessary information:

  • How sports activities are organized
  • The names of the coordinators
  • Available facilities

Log in with your CLA credentials to access this information.

📄 Member Area

In your member area, you can:

  • Upload your medical certificate
  • Reserve sports equipment

Do you want to organize a sandwich sale, party, conference, or any other student event?

👉 All initiatives must be submitted in advance via the Event Organization Request Form here.

This ensures:

  • Compliance of the event with the Institute’s regulations;
  • Authorization to use rooms and equipment;
  • Logistical support (access to rooms, equipment needs, etc.).

⚠️ Important: Please submit your requests at least 7 working days before the scheduled date. No event can be approved without this minimum notice.

⚠️ Important Information:

  • Submit your request at least 48 working hours before the reservation date.
  • Eating or drinking in the rooms is prohibited.
  • Rooms must be returned to their original layout and condition after use.
  • Make sure to close windows and turn off the lights when leaving.

Following these rules ensures that all students can enjoy the spaces in good conditions.

To make your event successful, it’s important to communicate effectively and reach your audience through multiple channels—not just your class Facebook group. Through Centrale Lille Communication Department, you can:

  • Display your event on the Institute’s TV screens
  • Share it on the school’s official social media channels
  • Publish it in the student newsletter/blog *Point Actu*

🖨️ Printing Posters

If you wish to print posters, send an email to imprimerie@centralelille.fr including:

  • Format: A3 or A4
  • Color or black & white
  • Number of copies (limited to 15 to comply with DDRS)

⚠️ Important: Requests submitted less than 3 working days before the event will be refused.

In addition to the Student Board (CA Élèves), which is responsible for major decisions related to student life, Centrale Lille Associations (CLA) opens Working Groups (GT) to all members of the Institute, whether they are members or not.

These groups focus on various topics and issues, such as:

  • Membership fees
  • Drafting association statutes
  • Managing association spaces and equipment
  • Other students life-related projects

🌈 Centrale Lille InClusion (CLIC) is the association that ensures all students are respected and protected against any form of discrimination within the Institute.

What to Do in Case of a Problem?

If you are a victim or witness of harassment, homophobia, sexism, sexual violence, or discrimination, Centrale Lille  provides  a secure and anonymous reporting platform:

During dance parties, two people wearing orange t-shirts are present to ensure that no sexist or sexual violence (VSS) occurs. They are trained to support you—even if nothing has happened; you can approach them simply to talk.

⚠️ Reminder: Unwanted touching or forced kisses are considered sexual assault, punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a €75,000 fine.

Awareness and Prevention

Throughout the year, CLIC  organizes:

  • Prevention and awareness-raising events
  • Activities on the role of an active bystander
  • Discussions on broader issues related to feminist activism and inclusion

Centr’aide and Human’iteem are the two humanitarian associations at the Institute.

They regularly organize collections of clothing, toys, and school supplies, which are either distributed during outreach activities or donated to partner organizations.

🩸 Blood Donations with Centr’aide

Several times a year, Centr’aide organizes blood drives in partnership with the EFS (Établissement Français du Sang). These events are an opportunity to contribute to take part in an essential act of solidarity.

Reminder:

  • Women can donate blood every 3 months
  • Men can donate blood every 2 months

(“Alumni” does not take an “-s” in the plural!)

Alumni is the association of Centrale Lille graduates who wish to stay connected to student life and share their experience with current students.

Each year, the Alumni organize a mentoring program, available from the integration period. The goal is to connect you with a graduate to freely discuss:

  • Your CV and professional projects
  • Academic or association experiences
  • Your personal interests

If you miss the registration deadline, don’t worry—you can still contact them directly to join the program.

Beyond Mentoring Alumni also offer:

  • 💰 Grant programs to support student associations
  • 🍻 Networking afterworks in a friendly atmosphere
  • 📚 Training sessions on student life and project development
