The councils
The Board of Directors (CA)
It definesthe general policy of Centrale Lille. It meets four times a year in ordinary session, convened by its Chairman, and comprises 26 members distributed as follows: 14 representatives of external actors, one of whom chairs the Board, 9 staff representatives, and 3 representatives of students enrolled at Centrale Lille.
The Scientific Council (SC)
It is consulted or may express its wishes on the direction of research policies. It is chaired by the Director General. It comprises 25 members distributed as follows: 6 external figures, 16 staff representatives, and 3 representatives of enrolled doctoral students.
The Academic Council (CE)
It is consulted or may express opinions on the direction and implementation of Centrale Lille’s training policy. It is chaired by the Director General and comprises 20 members distributed as follows: 2 external representatives, 10 staff representatives, and 8 student representatives.
School councils
Centrale Lille includesinternal schools, each identified by a name that appears explicitly in the title of the corresponding engineering degree. Each internal school has a school council, which is consulted or can make recommendations on the development strategy of the internal school and the strengthening of the training for which it is responsible. It is composed of 16 members distributed as follows: 5 external representatives, 8 staff representatives, and 3 student representatives.
Committees and commissions
The Research Steering Committee (CPR)
It has an advisory role covering all areas related to research (research policy, scientific policy, topics discussed by the scientific council, etc.). This committee is chaired by the Director of Research and composed of laboratory correspondents.
The Training Steering Committee (CPF)
It has an advisory role covering all areas related to training (training policy, topics discussed by the Academic Council, etc.). This committee is chaired by the Director General and is composed of the directors of the internal schools and the heads of the teaching departments. The institution’s social administration committee (CSAE) The institution’s social administration committee is a forum for social dialogue that includes specialized training in health, safety, and working conditions.
The Joint Establishment Committee (CPE)
The role of this committee has been modified by the Civil Service Transformation Act, Law No. 2019-828 of August 6, 2019, on the transformation of the civil service. It has jurisdiction over individual decisions (refusal of tenure, refusal of part-time work, refusal of training). The CPE no longer has jurisdiction over transfers, mobility, promotions, and advancements, which will be examined in advance within the framework of management guidelines. It is composed of equal numbers of representatives from the institution and staff representatives.
The Joint Advisory Committee (CPP) for non-tenured staff
This committee is consulted on all individual matters relating to the professional situation of non-tenured staff.
Created in 2019, the Centrale Lille Foundation aims to contribute to the success of the institute’s mission as a key player in Northern Europe in higher education, research, and innovation, committed to industrial transformation and a sustainable future.
A foundation committed to four themes:
- Industrial professions attractiveness
- Research & teaching
- Entrepreneurship & innovation
- Caring (for oneself, others, and the environment)

⚜️ The Écoles Centrale Group
The Écoles Centrale – Centrale Lille, Centrale Lyon, Centrale Méditerranée, Centrale Nantes, and CentraleSupélec – share the same values and the same generalist training program, as well as the same commitment to academic and research excellence.
The Écoles Centrale Group ensures the renewal of our identity and the sustainability of our brand, a key part of their added value acrossour respective sites, and our operational potential, particularly for their international development.
⚜️ École Centrale de Pékin
Centrale Pékin has welcomed around 100 Chinese engineering students per year since September 2005. After one year of intensive French language studies, each class undergoes five years of training, including two years of preparatory classes and three years of engineering studies, to obtain a dual Chinese and French degree.
⚜️ Mahindra Ecole Centrale
Founded in September 2013 and inaugurated in August 2014, MEC is the result of a collaboration between the Indian company Tech Mahindra, Centrale Paris, and JNTU University in Hyderabad. The school is based on the project and model of theÉcoles Centrale Group in France.
⚜️ Centrale Casablanca
The École Centrale of Casablanca is a Moroccan school of excellence created in 2013 by the Kingdom of Morocco and France. Opened in 2015, it offers a three-year program to train versatile generalist engineers who will become future executives in the kingdom and on the continent.
⚜️ The Gay-Lussac Federation
The Gay-Lussac Federation (FGL), of which ENSCL is a member, brings together 20 French chemistry and chemical engineering schools. At the national level, the FGL offers an integrated preparatory program that allows high school graduates to enter the federation’s schools based on a continuous assessment basis after two years of integrated preparatory classes at one of five centers: Clermont-Ferrand, Lille, Pau, Rennes, or Strasbourg.
At the international level, the FGL is involved in two Franco-Chinese institutes: the first, Chimie-Pékin, with BUCT (Beijing University of Chemical Technology), and the second, Chimie Shanghai, with ECUST (East China University of Science and Technology). The FGL plays a key role in the development and international visibility of French engineering schools in chemistry. Membership in the FGL thus enhances the international visibility and attractiveness of our institution.
⚜️ The Lille site
Centrale Lille firmly anchors its research within the Lille site, particularly within the framework of the Initiative of Excellence led by the University of Lille, in which all the partners in higher education, namely universities and research organizations, collaborate closely.
Centrale Lille Alumni is a network of over 12,000 graduates from Centrale Lille. It is a genuine support network based on trust that promotes professional and personal development for all. The network brings together graduates from 80 countries, organizes more than 150 events per year, and supports your transition into the professional life, particularly through mentoring and career workshops.
